TVS Motor Company launched the Apache RTR 160 2V in the country in April 2018. It has received only a few minor modifications. 160cc Apache was the first bike from the Apache series that was introduced in the Indian market.
The ‘RTR’ stands for ‘Racing Throttle Response’ and also the motorcycle is designed with a racing approach.
The Apache RTR 160 is powered with a single-cylinder four-stroke 160cc engine which produces 15.2bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 13.1Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This motor comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels in the front and rear with 90 mm section tyres at the front and 110 mm section tyres at the rear.
Power on providing is 15bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque developed is around 13.03Nm at 6500rpm Built around the double cradle SynchroSTIFF chassis, RTR 160 weighs 137kg. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels in the front and rear with 90 mm section tyres at the front and 110 mm section tyres at the rear.
It is available in seven different colour schemes, black, grey, red, yellow, white, matte red and matte blue. The Apache competes with the Honda X-Blade and the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The pricing begins at Rs, 79500 – 82000.
