United motors made its grand debut in India at the 2016 Vehicle Expo. Commando, as it’s called, receives a rugged treatment dominated from the matte finish on the entire body. UM is an all-new producer itself, The Motorcycles are being manufactured at Lohia’s manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand, With a design speech and outline inspired from the bigger cruisers from the households of Harley Davidson and Indian, the Renegade Commando impresses you with its low slung posture and pristine American sense in its design.
Inside, a 279cc single cylinder, water-cooled engine is housed for providing max. Power generated from the motor is around 24.8bhp at 8500rpm and peak torqued developed is 22Nm in 7000rpm. A six-speed synchromesh transmission is paired with the 279cc engine. Suspension duties are handled from the 41mm hydraulic telescope in front and twin hydraulic with spring type at rear.
A sizable 18-litre gas tank, pillion backrest, low-slung seats, and high-set handlebars. It also gets round headlamps and one big instrument console that incorporates a speedometer and a digital display to the odometer and trip meters. It is placed on the tank to give it that traditional American cruiser appeal. UM has also added the USB charging port. The bike sits on spoke wheels, 16-inch up front and 15-inch in the rear.
The Renegade Commando is offered in three colours –Mattmoss green, Burgundy shine, Black shine.
